Boater Safety Class Schedule

United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and
Texas Parks & Wildlife Boater Safety Education Classes

Keep your family & friends safe as you enjoy your favorite water activities this year. It only takes one day and you're all set!

All classes are taught by Certified Volunteer Instructors

The Texas Boater Education Program stresses boating safety and responsibility, including...

  • Tips on choosing the right boat for you

  • Legal requirements for your boat

  • Navigation rules and aids (rules of the road on the water)

  • Getting underway, docking, anchoring, and trailering

  • Handling accidents and emergencies

  • Basic water safety

  • Fire on board a vessel

  • Water sports

  • And more life-saving information!

With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's vital for every boater to educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship.

Important Note: Many insurance companies now give insurance premium reductions of up to 5% upon successful completion of these classes and up to 25% for the more advanced classes!

All classes start promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end about 5:00 p.m.

LIFETIME Certification from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Boat Education Course and United States Coast Guard Auxiliary America's Boating Course will be issued upon successful completion of your class.

Spanish students: Spanish material available. (Recommended: Spanish students bring a translator to class)

This Boat Education Course qualifies for certain violation of Texas Boating Laws under Section 31.109 of the Texas Water Safety Act.

Please bring two #2 pencils and a black ball point pen to class. All other materials will be furnished.
